Aussie's holds the record for highest run scored in a t20I world cup. In their match against Sri Lanka in 2016 they raised a mammoth target of 263 for Sri Lanka. Glenn Maxxwell's 145 from 65 balls was the base of the huge total. He blasted 9 sixes and 14 fours in the match. On reply, Sri Lanka was only managed to hit 178 runs facing a 85 runs loss. The previous record was for Sri Lanka of 260 against Kenya.
2. Lowest Score
In the 2014 t20I world cup. Netherlands was the victim of Sri Lanka's bowling attack. They were only able to score 39 runs in the match. Only TLG Cooper surpassed two digit for Netherlands. 5 players were failed to add a single run to the score card. They only faced 63 balls in the match. Mendis and Mathews took 3 wickets each in the match. Sri Lanka chased the low score in just 5 overs, which is one of the quickest win for a team. Ahsan Malik took one wicket for Netherlands from the bowling side.

England holds the record of highest successful run chase in the t20I world cup. In the 2016 world t20I England were successful in chasing the mammoth target of 230 made by South Africa. Joe Root was brilliant with his bat. He smashed 83 runs from 44 balls. The innings had six sixes and 4 fours. Jason Roy's quick 43 from 19 balls, and Alex Hales cameo 17 helped the team to win the match. The match was held at Wankhede Stadium,Mumbai.
4. Largest Victory Margin(Runs)
In the inaugural world cup Sri Lanka thrashed Kenya for 172 runs which is the highest victory in the t20I world cups. Batting first Sri Lanka raised a huge target of 261 for Kenya. The run was highest in world cups which later broke by Aussie's. Jayasurya, Jayawardene's half century was crucial for the target. Mubarak made a quick 46 from 10 balls. On reply, Kenya lost all their wickets at 88 runs. C Vas, Malinga and Dilshan took 2 wickets from the bowling side. Jayasurya's 88 runs and 1 wicket made him the player of the match.
5. Most Wins
Sri Lanka is the most successful team in the t20I world cups. In the tenure of 2007 to 2016 they played 35 matches. They were victorious in 22 matches having a winning percentage of 64. They lost 12 matches and a no result match. Sri Lanka were also successful in winning the t20I world cup once.
6. Most Losses
Bangladesh was fruitless in the t20I world cup. They faced most number of losses in the t20I world cups. In the tenure of 2007 and 2016 they played 25 matches and succeeded only in 5. They faced 19 losses and one being a no result match. The team hasn't made a semi final appearance till now. The team didn't made a victory against some of the dominants in this format, including India.
7. Smallest Victory(by Wickets)
New Zealand's 2 wicket win against Sri Lanka is the smallest margin win considering the wickets in t20 World cup. The win was for 2 wickets with 1 ball remaining. Batting first Sri Lanka raised a small target of 136 for the Kiwis. Jayawardene was the only player to reach fifty runs in the match. In the 2016 t20 World Cup, South Africa and England added 459 runs to the score card in their super six match at Mumbai. Batting first, with the courtesy of Amla, Duminy and de Kock's half century knock, South Africa raised a mammoth total of 229 for England. On reply, England made some fireworks in the initial overs. But they lost their wickets in regular intervals. But Joe Root's one man army performance helped the team to succeed in the match with 2 balls and 2 wickets remaining. Root scored 83 runs from just 44 balls.
10. Lowest Match Aggregates
In a match between Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the 2014 World t20I, the whole match scored 79 runs. Batting first, Netherlands lost all their wickets at just 39. On reply, Sri Lanka chased the target with 15 overs remaining. This is lowest match aggregate in world t20's. Ireland vs New Zealand match in 2016 is in the second position with 106 runs.
