Shaun Marsh nicknamed SOS (Son of Swampy) was the Orange Cap holder of the inaugural IPL season. He helped Kings XI Punjab to reach the semifinals. He scored 616 runs from 11 matches with the courtesy of a hundred and five half centuries. 139.68 was his strike rate of that year. He blasted 59 fours and 26 sixes in the tournament. 115 against Rajasthan Royals was his best performance of that year.Impressed by his IPL performance Australian selectors invited him to their National Team and debuted against West Indies.
