AB de Villiers had an amazing ODI career. His unorthdox batting style has puzzled commentators to name shots.  ABD holds the record of quickest half century and ton in ODIs. Both records were born in single match. In the 2015th West Indies tour of South Africa, ABD blasted a 149 runs from just 44 balls. His half century was from just 16 balls and broke the previous record of Jayasurya. His ton was from just 31 balls and thrashed 36 ball record of Corey Anderson. The innings was considered as one of the ferocious innings of the decade. His innings included 16 maximums and 9 fours.

West Indies once again witnessed an aggressive innings by the great ABD. In the 2015 World Cup, he blasted an unbeaten 162 at Melbourne against the Caribbeans. The 150 knock was came from just 64 balls. He made his batting appearance in the 30th over and started dominating over the bowlers. Jason Holder had a economy of 5 in an over till his 8 overs. In his last two overs, de Villiers blasted 64 runs conceding an economy above 10 in an over. His brilliant notch helped the team to set up a 409 runs target and won the match by 257 runs.

He surpassed the milestone in his 205th ODI match against New Zealand. In the same year Virat Kohli excelled the record with 194 innings's. But he was quickest to reach the milestone in protean jersey.

de Villiers is had a strike rate of 101.10 in ODIs. This is the highest for a South African batsmen. It is also third highest in the International cricket, with Shahid Afridi being the most aggressive(117.0). Indian opener, Virender Sehwag had a strike rate of 104.33 and placed second in the list. But it is a fact that de Villiers is the best among the three. His average was 53.50 contrast Afridi's 23.57 and Viru's 35.05.

He is having an average of 63.53 in the tournament.  From his 23 World Cup appearances Mr360 blasted 1263 runs. Vivian Richards is next to him with 63.31 in the tournament.

MS Dhoni is in the 4th place with 217 sixes. He shares the record of maximum number of sixes in an innings with Rohit Sharma. Both blasted 16 sixes. ABD's performance was against West Indies.

AB de Villiers smashed 25 hundreds for South African team and was the highest in ODIs for the team. Hashim Amla later topped the list with 26 hundreds. de Villiers's 75 ball ton in the test against India in the year 2010 is the fastest by a South African batsmen and 15th in the overall. He is the only player to have an average over 50 in Tests, ODIs, First Class and List A cricket.
