MS Dhoni, who is one of the greatest cricket captain holds a winning streak record in test cricket. From his debut as a skipper he hasn't lost in 11 matches.Which is largest by a test captain. The 11 matches included 8 wins and 3 draws. In between Dhoni missed 3 matches with injury and Virender Sehwag was named as captain during the period. So, considering this Indian team was remained unbeaten in 14 matches after Dhoni's captaincy promotion. Out of these 11 match was guided by Dhoni and 3 from Sehwag.The former record was held by Australian captain Warwick Armstrong.
2. 50 Sixes in Test Cricket
Dhoni, who is known for his aggressive batting style in any cricket format holds an unique record in test cricket. He is the first and only test captain to strike 50 sixes for the team. In his test against England in the year 2014, he smashed a six against the England off-spinner Moeen Ali and secured the record. The previous record was held by, former West Indies legend, Brian Lara of 49 sixes. Clive Lloyd, Vivian Richard are in the list with 48 and 46 sixes.
3. Highest Score in ODI's
Dhoni smashed an unbeaten 183 runs against Sri Lanka in the year 2005 against Sri Lanka is the highest individual score by a wicket keeper. He took 145 balls to achieve the record and had a strike rate of 126.20. He smashed 15 fours and 10 sixes in the match. The 13-year old record hasn't beaten by an wicket keeper till now. Adam Gilchrist's 172 runs record was the former record in the scenario. Currently South African wicket keeper, Quinton de Kock holds the second position with 178 runs.
4. Position Records
Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest finishers in Cricket. He usually appears in the 6th or 7th position in ODI's. He holds some records in these positions. He is having the most career runs in the 6th batting position. He scored 3613 runs in the position. He smashed 2 hundreds in batting at 7th position. This is also an achievement by him. In the year 2012, Dhoni scored 113 runs against Pakistan, and it is considered as the highest score by a captain batting at at number 7.
5. Most Stumpings
MS Dhoni is the first wicket keeper in the ODI's to make 100 stumping's. He has achieved this milestone in his 310st ODI when he dismissed Akila Dananjaya behind the stumps. The former record was held by Sri Lankan wicket keeper, Kumar Sangakkara. When he was retiring, Sangakkara had 99 stumping's in his cart. This is the 97th stumping for team India and 3 was for Asia XI in the 2007 match.
6. Highest Score in t20I's
Dhoni took 56 matches to score his first t20I half century. This is a record in the format. Also, he is the first cricketer to score 1000 runs in t20I's without a half century in the kit. Another record is that, he is having the record of most career runs in t20I's before scoring a half century. He had 1153 runs in his cart before his first fifty.
7. T20I Captaincy Records
Dhoni served 72 matches as Indian t20I captain. This is a world record. He is also only wicket keeper captain to win a t20I World Cup. He won the inaugural t20I world cup.
8. Wicket Keeping Records in T20I
MS Dhoni has made 78 dismissals in t20I. This is a record by him. The record includes 49 catches and 29 stumping's. Kamran Akmal follows him with 58 dismissals. He is also holding the record of most catches in t20I's. Dhoni shares his record with Adam Gilchrist, Mat Prior and AB de Villiers of most number of dismissals in an innings, which is four. He has done this achievement in the year 2012 against Pakistan.
9. Most Consecutive T20I Innings
From his t20I debut, Dhoni hasn't faced a single duck in his career. He is still continuing his record at 77 matches. West Indies all rounder, Marlon Samuels is the active participant in the contest with 61 matches. Angelo Mathews is having 53 consecutive innings without a duck. Also, Dhoni is the most successful captain in the t20I's. Under his t20I captaincy, Men in Blue won 51 matches out of 86 clashes .
10. Other Records
MS Dhoni is the first wicket keeper to make 150+ stumping's(In all three formats) in the International cricket. He has made 174 stumping's altogether. He guided Indian team in all three formats and holds the record of Captaining most number of International matches(331). He is having a winning percentage of 53.77. He smashed 204 sixes while leading team India, This is also a record for MS Dhoni.
