Consecutive Man of the Match Award
Sourav Ganguly holds the record of most number of consecutive Man of the Match award winner in ODIs, that is 4. He achieved this record against Pakistan in the Sahara Friendship Cup on 1997.In the five match series, Indian won the series by 4-1. Sourav started this achievement from the 2nd Match on wards. He was brilliant with bat and ball. He achieved a 5 wicket haul in the third match. He was also awarded with the Man of the Series award. He scored 222 runs and 15 wickets in the entire series.
Highest Individual Runs In Champions trophy finals
Ganguly scored 117 runs against New Zealand in the 2000 Champions Trophy final. This is a world record of scoring highest runs in Champions Trophy Finals. Ganguly made this score from 130 balls. Ganguly's score helped the team to achieve a good target of 265. But century contribution from Chris Cairnes(102*) thrashed their title hopes. Cairnes was Man of the Match award winner of the match. The record was still was not broken by any player.
Most Number of Hundreds
Ganguly is the first player to score 3 hundreds in Champions trophy. Later Shikhar Dhawan, Hershelle Gibbs, Chris Gayle joined the list. He made this achievement against New Zealand in 2000, South Africa in 2002 and England in the same year. He is also the first player to score 2 hundreds in a single edition of Champions Trophy.In those 3 matches, India was victorious in 2, against South Africa and England. They lost against New Zealand.
Highest Score in World cup
Ganguly holds the record of highest individual runs in the world cup by an Indian.His 183 against Sri Lanka in the 1999 world cup placed him in the 2nd position.Later in the year 2015, Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle entered the 200 marks and he is in 4th position currently. He took 158 balls to achieve this target. His innings included 17 fours and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 115.82. Kapil Dev is the 2nd Indian in the list and he scored 175 runs.
Most Number of Overseas Test Wins
Ganguly is one of the best Indian captain ever. He lift the struggled Indian from many controversies. Under his captaincy, he took the team to new achievements. Indian team was weakest in their overseas matches. But the promotion of Ganguly as captain helped the team to win some overseas matches. Under his captaincy India played 28 test matches and India were victorious in 11 matches at a winning percentage of 39.12. They lost in 10 matches and 7 being a draw.
Century in Debut and Retirement
Ganguly have a unique record on his cart. He became the 10th Indian to score hundred on his debut test match and 3rd to score at historical Lords. He made this achievement against England in 1996. Later he scored another century in his next innings, and became the 3rd player to hit centuries in two consecutive innings by a debutant. The weird thing is that he was dismissed in the first ball of his last innings. In a test match against Australia in 2008 he was caught and bowled by Krejza.

Sourav Ganguly was the fastest batsmen to reach 9000 runs. He took 228 matches to reach this feat. In a match against Australia on 2004 he thrashed Sachin's record of 234 matches. But later in 2017, AB de Villiers beaten this record from 205 matches . In the same year Virat Kohli reached the top with 195 matches. Currently Sourav Ganguly is in 3rd place.

Ganguly achieved some unique records in the form of partnerships. He holds the most number of 200+ partnership, along with his team mate Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Pointing. He is also have the highest number of 50 partnerships for the first wicket that is 44. Sachin and Ganguly jointly holds the record for most 175+ partnerships as the opening pair.
Highest Runs in a Calendar Year
Ganguly topped 3 times in scoring most runs in a calendar year.He made this achievement in the year 1997,1999 and 2000. Also he scored 7 hundreds in the year 2000,which is also a record of 2nd most number of hundreds in a calendar year. He is the first Indian player to score a hundred against Australia in Australia.
