Delhi Daredevils will play their 1st Match of 11th season on 8th April against Kings XI Punjab. The team is considered as poor performers in their previous seasons. Since their first season, they haven’t made any final entry in IPL, the only team in current season to do so.But this year Delhi has made some good bids on the auction and expected to make their maiden IPL victory. Gambhir is considers as the back bone of the team. He was successful with Kolkata Knight Riders, who guided the Kolkata Knight Riders to 2 IPL victories. Ricky Ponting who was successful with Mumbai in their previous season is also add hopes to their maiden IPL victory. Rishabh Pant,Shreyas Iyer was impressive with the team in their previous seasons. The perfect mixture of experience and talent in the Delhi line up will be the key fact for their victory.

Delhi began their training session on 29th March,with the arrival of head coach Ricky Ponting. Before that they were busy with photo shoot, Gym sessions etc. Ricky Ponting, tried his initial sessions training the players in the fielding area. After a warm up, Ponting give some fielding tips to the players, especially for the domestic talents. Gautham Gambhir’s presence helped the youngsters to mingle with their skipper. Ponting was hardly trying to pick a perfect off side fielding for the team. Later that day, they had some good interaction with the ProKabaddi team UP Yodhas. On 30th March, head coach taught some batting tips to the youngsters. The team announced about their match reschedule from April 21st to 12th May through twitter. Shahbaz Nadeem, Amit Mishra along with young spinners were engaged with trying new spins in the practice session on 31st March.They tried some real practice sessions. Even the batters Rishabh Pant, Gautham Gambhir tested various bowlers with their bats. Delhi will face missing of some of their star foreign players in their initial few matches. Maxxwell, the aggressive right-hand batsmen announced, he will be busy with his team mate Aaron Finches marriage. Chris Morris and Khagiso Rabada are busy with their tour against Australia and expected to join the team after their test series.Trent Boult is also expected to join Delhi after the commitment with his National team.

Delhi can hope for their 1st IPL win as they have well balanced team with experienced players. Most of their off-shore players are in good form this season. Trent Boult, Rabada, Maxxwell showed some good performance for their team in the season. Delhi have the best team line-up in the season. If they forgot the past they can hope for a good future!!.
