FIFA WORLD CUP 2018 GROUP ANALYSIS- GROUP A

As only few days left, all the qualified teams are in last minute preparation of FIFA world cup. 32 teams are aiming for the biggest football throne. Each 4 teams are divided into 8 groups from A to H. Group A looks feeble with average teams. The No.17 team, Uruguay looks the Group favorites along with No.46 Egypt. 

RUSSIA

The hosts, Russia will make their first bout in the tournament opener against Saudi Arabia. They were one of the best team in the 2008 European Championship. With an unexpected heroic performance, Russian team were able to reach the semi final round in the tournament. But, now the case has changed. Currently, they are having the worst ranking of 66 in the FIFA rankings. They haven't surpassed group stage after the 2008 achievement. Along with poor performance, they are having some problems with their existing team combination. Coach, Stanislav Cherchesov and players are having disagreement with their opinions. Captain Igor Akinfeev , who is also the goal keeper of Russia will be the key player for the team. But poor performances in the biggest stages will be a worry. As the Russian team are having the worst stat in the group, surpassing the groupstage will be a herculean task for them.

SAUDI ARABIA

Compared to previous years, FIFA World Cup witnessed the appearance of 4 Arab teams in the competition. Saudi Arabia, the No. 67 team will be one of them along with their group mates, Egypt(Other two are Morocco and Tunisia). They had to surpass many hurdles to make the tournament with making 2 experiments in the coaching department. Mohammad Al-Sahlawi will be the key player of the Saudi XI. The 30-year old striker shaken the nets 16 times in the qualifying rounds. Coach, Juan Antonio Pizzi given task to guide the Saudi Arabian team to their maximum. Their first match will be against Russia. 

EGYPT

Egypt, After their last appearance in 1990, aiming for a great come back with the Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah. The seven- time African champions didn't got any World Cup entries in this century and aiming for a golden run with the qualifying token. They had worst records recently, failing to qualify for the African Cup, which was their belonging once. But things changed, they made a great return to the African Championship by reaching finals and also qualifying for the World Cup tournament.As  mentioned, Mohammad Salah was the hero on their return. Coach, Hector Cuper will be the one more strength for the Arab nation. his defend and attack tactic had positive results for the team. The no.46 team can qualify for the next round, if they continued their existing form.

URUGUAY

Uruguay team looks group favorites with the world class Defender Diego Godin and strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez in hand. Luiz Suarez, whom had an exceptional record at Brazil aiming to continue it in Russia. But Diego Godin will be the key player for the team. He was the top goal scorer of the South American qualifiers scoring 10 goals. Coach, Oscar Tabarez will be a strength in outside the field. Although he diagnosed with  Guillain-Barre syndrome, his experience(4th World Cup appearance) will be vital for Uruguay.  Emergence of young players will be one more strength for the teams success.
