Indian Team Succeeded in their First Triumph at England
After a successful series at Irish land, Indian team headed to England. Kohli boys had to understand the English pitch before their 2019 World Cup dare. The T20I series were scheduled between July 3 to July 8 and had 3 bouts to play. England team was captained by their T20I specialist Eoin Morgan. Both team had to win the series to gain confidence to their ODI, Test bout. But it was the dominance of Indian team in the series.
In the first T20I, Men in Blue faced England at Old Trafford, Manchester. Kohli was awarded with the toss and elected to field first. With the efforts of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler, England team managed to set up a 160 target to the visitors. Kuldeep Yadav showcased a splendid 5 wicket performance and was key in demolishing England middle order line up. On reply, Indian team lost Shikhar Dhawan in an early session but the IPL boy, KL Rahul joined his hands with Rohit Sharma and showed the root to victory. An unbeaten 101 from the Mangalore boy helped the team to win with 10 balls and 8 wickets to spare.
India's next match was scheduled at Cardiff on July 6. This time Morgan sent the Indian team to bat first. The openers again disappointed in the match. Even the first match hero, Rahul failed to showcase a decent partnership. But Kohli's partnership with Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni helped the team to set up a decent 148 total. England lost their top order batsmen's in a quick session. But Alex Hales single handedly led the team to success. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impressive with his economical spells. Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets conceding above 9 runs in an over.
In their series deciding match at Bristol on July 8, England team was sent to bat first. Jason Roy and Jos Buttler dominated over Indian bowlers. Both added 94 runs for the first wicket with almost 73 balls to spare. The team was on a great mood to set up a huge target. But Hardik Pandya's wicket taking spells helped India to limit the target to 199 runs. As Dhawan once again returned early to the side bench, India was in a desperate need of a great performance to chase the target. Rohit Sharma was in a good mood to thrash the England bowlers. The right hand batsmen joined with Rahul, Kohli and Pandya to secure the win for his side. Rohit scored 100 runs in the match from just 56 balls. Hardik Pandya's 33 runs cameo was crucial in gifting a easy win for the Men In Blue.
Team India's performance in the series was excellent. The team showcased an all round performance at England. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma maintained their IPL staging. Rohit scored 137 runs in the series whereas Rahul's contribution was 126. They are the top 2 run getters in the series. Indian team dominated even in the bowling section also. The top 3 wicket takers in the series are Hardik Pandya(6), Kuldeep Yadav(5) and Umesh Yadav(5). Kuldeep Yadav astonished with 5 wicket performance in the series opener but failed to maintain it. Hardik Pandya was the best in the list with a balanced performance in the batting and bowling order. If India maintained the form their ODI series victory will not be a tough task.
