Moto E5 Plus Review
Moto E series is known for its budget and solid smartphone experience. Moto E5 plus is also a device which will have similar features. The device is expected to make launch in the month of July or first week of August. it will have the latest Oreo version along with a great battery life. Moto E5 plus will be a 13k budget phone and will have competitions from Redmi series phones and Samsung Galaxy J6. The smartphone will not have Android P upgradation.
Display and Design
Moto E5 Plus has maintained the design of Moto G6 and Moto X4 with slight difference in the look. The device is having a 9.3 mm thickness along with 75.3 mm width. But the smartphone will have a bit heavy sketch of 196.6 grams. The rear side will have a glossy polymer design which will have the similar look of the glass back. E5 Plus will be available in 4 color variants of Black, Gold, Flash Grey and Mineral Blue.
The 6 inch IPS LCD display will have a screen resolution of 720*1440 pixels. The 268 ppi Pixel Density looks an average feature for the price tag and even its competitor, Redmi Note5 Pro is featuring a 403 ppi pixel density. A 76.68% Screen to Body Ratio looks average and Moto still having the weakness in this criteria.
Storage and Performance
The device will have an in-built memory of 32 GB. Moto E5 plus gives an expandable storage option of 128 GB. A dedicated MicroSD card slot allows you to use multiple sim and external storage option at the same time.
Moto E5 Plus is a great performer. Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Chipset is powered by a quad core processor. Although it doesn't have an Octa core processor, this will be enough to do the multi tasks. The graphics intensive games or apps performs well with Adreno 308 graphics card. A 3 GB RAM looks great and will ensures you a smooth performance.
Battery and Camera
The smartphone comes with some decent camera features. The primary cameras are powered with a 12 MP sensor and will have panorama, slow motion, QR code reader, and burst shot modes. LED Flash will courtesy you to click the photos in night modes and will have an image resolution of 4000*3000 pixels. The video recording feature will be of the quality 1920*1080 @ 30 fps. Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus are the notable camera features. A f/2.0 aperture will enhance the quality of the images you click.
The front camera will be of the resolution 8 MP and having a Physical aperture of f/2.2. Front LED is yet another innovative feature from the Moto range.
The device is packed with a huge 5000 mAh Li-ion battery and will have quick charging features. The company assures a normal usage of 36 hours with the cell. A non removable battery will be a worry for some of the customers.
Other Features
The device will have dual Sim, along with 4 G support in both the networks. Bluetooth version will be 4.2 and this smells like a small weakness in the connectivity area. Wifi hot spot are the basic connectivity features of the device. It will have GPS with A-GPS and Glonass. Mass storage device, USB charging, microUSB 2.0 will be the USB connectivity options. It will have FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack in the multi media section. The finger print sensor is placed in the rear side of the device.
Verdict
Moto E5 Plus will give you some smart features under the 14 k budget. The 5000 mAh huge battery capacity is an advantage for the device but on the other hand, a non-removable battery will be a fret for the users. Camera features are average but the device is an excellent performer. Graphics card, processor and RAM are at its best in the Moto E5 Plus. 32 GB built in storage and 128 GB expandable options are the great features from Moto E5 Plus.
Pros:
- Good Performer
- Excellent Battery
- Good Storage options
- Average Cameras
- No changes to the design
