Moto Z3 Play Preview

Moto Z3 Play is expected to launch in the Indian market at a ₹ 22,990.00 price tag on 6th June 2018. The phone will come with the latest Android v8.1 and will have stock for buttery smooth user interface. With its available specs, Z3 Play will surely be a tough challenger for Vivo V9 and Oppo F7. Moto Z2 Play was a great success in the Indian market and the latest version is aiming for yet another dominance.

Display and Design

The Metal design will enhance the glamour of the device. Splash Proof will add additional security to the device. It is expected to come with only one black color variant.

The device is having a 6.1 inch Super AMOLED display and have a decent 396ppi Pixel Density. Along with Splash Proof feature, the phone is expected to feature Gorilla Glass v5 for its display. The display glass will scratch resistant.Although 1080*2160 pixel screen density looks average, it will give high class output with Super AMOLED display.  

Storage and Performance

Moto Z3 Play will be a good performer in terms of given specs.  The Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 will feature an Octacore processor. Like its competitor, VIVO V9 and Oppo F7, Moto Z3 Play is having 4 GB RAM and will give excellent performance. Adreno 509 graphics card is expected to give an amazing graphical features and will help in playing high quality games.

32 GB internal memory looks decent and it can be upgraded up to a mammoth 2 TB. The phone will have OTG Support like its predecessor's.

Battery and Camera

3000 mAh Li-ionbattery looks ordinary for the price. VIVO V9 is having a 3240 mAh battery and Oppo F7 built with a 3400 mAh battery. But turbo charging feature will be an advantage for the Moto Z3.  

12 MP+ 8 MP Dual Primary cameras is expected to give great images of resolution 4000*3000 pixels. Dual Color LED Flash will give great pictures under any conditions. The phone will feature ISO control with Continuos Shooting, High Dynamic Range(HDR) modes.  The other features of cameras include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. 5 MP Front camera looks a little lesser compared to its competitors. Front camera highlights it will not be a great phone for the selfie lovers.

Other Features

Bluetooth v5.0 looks great and have the basic connectivity features. The Multimedia part will have 3.5 mm Audio Jack. The finger print sensor is placed in the front side and will have the basic Light, Proximity , Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope sensors. Moto Z3 Play doesn't have the USB Type-C support.

Verdict

After the success of Moto Z2 Play, Moto has announced Z3 Play. Although the customers had huge expectations on the device, within the given specs, Moto Z3 Play looks ordinary for the price tag. Super Amoled display, and design specs looks decent. But Vivo V9, Oppo F7 of the same range are having higher batter capacity and Battery life. Performance wise also Moto Z3 failed to satisfy its customers. You can by the phone for its display and design features.
