Mumbai Indians Team Preparations 2018
Mumbai Indians, 3 times IPL champions will battle against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL opener on this Saturday at the historical Wankhede. Both teams are considered as one of the most consistent and tournament favorites. Mumbai team is led by Rohit Sharma. He was successful in his previous collaboration with the team. Also, Indian team secured the Nidahas Trophy under his captaincy. The previous years champions can hope for their fourth, as they have some experienced and domestic talents in the team. Mumbai is the richest IPL team, not only by its brand value, but also with its players and team administrators. Sachin Tendulkar and Lasith Malinga are the mentors for the team. Jayawardene was appointed as the new coach for the team. For their 11th IPL season, Mumbai has made some good bids on the players. They have already started their training sessions for their fourth.
After a few shoot sessions, Mumbai players started their training on 26th March. Most of the Indian players were present in the session, especially, the youngsters. Head coach Jayawardene was actively present in the training and had some interaction with the players. In their initial sessions, rather than directly going to practice, they made some warm ups. Robin Singh was busy with training the youngsters and he gave some batting tips for them. In their following days,some players were busy with gym and some were busy in the nets. Coach Jayawardene assured every players are engaged in some works. Their fielding coach, James Pamment was trained the players, especially he concentrated more on the youngsters. The Players had some pool sessions in between the training. Lasith Malinga joined the camp on 28th along with Hardik Pandya. Pandya later seen busy with his session in the nets. On their 4th day of the net session, players had some friendly match. Most of the supporting staffs were present in the session. Most of the players performed well in the match. Their body style looked serious and they considered it as real match. They arrived to Wankhede Stadium on 31st March. From the next day on wards Overseas players started joining the camp. Mustafizur Rahman was the first one to land in Wankhede. Later Duminy, Mitch, Evin Lewis joined the Mumbai camp. Rohit Sharma was actively present in the sessions at Wankhede. Sachin made his appearance on 4th April along with team owners. Pollard also joined the team on 5th April and had some shootout sessions. More players are expected to join the team soon.
