NOKIA EDGE Review
Nokia is aiming for market dominance with their latest EDGE smartphone. The device is expected to come with a ₹ 19,990 price tag. Rumors indicates that the phone will be a August release. Edge will feature the latest Nougat Operating System, but there is only a slight chance for the availability of Oreo update. The phone may face some tough competitions from its own Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 models.
Display and Design
The device will feature a secondary display on the edges and looks great with the overall design The finger print scanner is featured in the backs side of the device.
The 5.2 inch IPS LCD display looks smaller compared to Nokia 6 display(5.5 inch). It is expected to have a greater pixel density of 424ppi than its rivals. The display will output a full HD 1080*1920 pixel screen resolution.
Storage and Performance
The phone comes with a 32 GB built in memory and looks an average phone in the criteria. The memory can be expanded up to 128 GB using external storage.
The MediaTek MT6755 Octa core processor looks decent in the range of smartphones. The Mali-T860 MP2 Graphics card will enhance the overall multimedia performance. It is having a 3 GB RAM and will give effortless performance.
Battery and Camera
The 3600 mAh Li-ion battery will give longer life for the smartphone. In contrast, its predecessor, Nokia 6 is having just 3000 mAh battery life.
It also leads in the camera section. With the courtesy of 23 MP primary camera, we can take some superb 5520*4120 pixel resolution images. It is having a slow motion video recording up to 1920*1080 @ 30fps. Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus are its other camera features.
The 13 MP front camera will give a high quality selfies for the users. Nokia is yet to experiment the front flash feature in their smartphones.
Other Features
The phone comes with basic connectivity features. But like its former releases, Nokia don't have USB type-C support. Blue tooth version looks older with v4.0. It will feature 3.5 mm Audio jack and placed near the charging port. Edge will have the basic Light, Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass sensors.
Verdict
The phone may face tough competitions from it predecessors. Other than these HTC One X10 and Xiaomi Mi6 will be its challengers. But higher battery capacity and great camera features will be a advantage for the Edge. If you are keen about these two factors within the 22k phones, Nokia Edge will be a best pick.
