Oppo's mid range smartphone, Oppo A3 was released in the Chinese market in the month of April. It is speculated that, A3 got a launch date in India of July 25. The smartphone will have a price tag of ₹ 21,090. The device will be powered with the latest Android Oreo version and there is no news on Android P updation. Along with this, Oppo A3 comes with a custom Color OS User Interface. The device will feature dual Sim slots, but it will lack the finger print scanner.
Display and Design
The device will be available in 4 color variants of Black, Red, Silver, Rose Gold. The device has maintained the design of Oppo F7. The device comes with a diamond cut motif at the back and will have a glass like finish. The device will have a thickness of 7.8 mm and will weight 159 grams. It will have a height and width dimension of 156*75.3 mm.
Oppo A3 is having an attractive screen size of 6.2 inches and is of the IPS LCD type. A 81.27% Screen to Body ratio will give you a bezel free look. The device will give you a screen resolution of 1080*2280 pixels and will have a aspect ratio of 19:9. It comes with an excellent 407 ppi Pixel density and the touch screen will be of Capacitive Multi-touch type.
Storage and Performance
The device will feature a huge 128 GB in built memory and gives an expandable storage option of 256 GB. Out of the 128 GB in built memory, there will be a user available space of 118 GB. It also supports OTG to enhance the storage.
The device will be a great performer with 4 GB RAM. It will give you a effortless multi tasking with the likes of MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and Octa core processor. Mali-G72 MP3 graphics card will courtesy in operating high graphics intensive applications.
Battery and Camera
Oppo A3 has been fueled with a 3400 mAh Li-ion battery and is expected to give a normal usage of 18 hours. Non removable feature of the device will be a worry for some buyers. The battery is rumored won't have fast charging feature and looks a weakness from the manufacturer.
Oppo A3 won't have dual camera set up. The primary camera will have a 16 MP resolution. It will be powered with CMOS image sensor. A f1.8 physical aperture looks decent and will give you an image resolution of 4616*3464 pixels. The primary camera will have LED set up along with Exposure compensation setting. There will be Continuos, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR) shooting modes from the manufacturer. Oppo A3 will give you a video recording of 1920*1080 @ 30 fps and have the basic Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus camera features.
The Front camera is powered with a 8 MP resolution and will have a physical aperture of f2.2. The camera pairs looks average for the price tag.
Other Features
3.5 mm audio jack will be the main feature from the multimedia part. The device won't have a finger print sensor. Oppo A3 is built with Light, Proximity, Accelerometer, Gyroscope sensors. The phone will have dual sim set up and will feature 4 G network in both the slots. Bluetooth version looks a bit older of v4.2. The GPS will powered with A-GPS and will have Wifi, hotspot connectivity features.
Verdict
Oppo A3 will be a mid range smartphone from the manufacturer. The device have balanced strengths and weaknesses. The camera looks ordinary with single lens. Even its competitors gives the dual camera feature for the mentioned price tag. Battery capacity looks decent but the non removable feature once again backs the device. Display part is having great features. Oppo A3 leads in the storage, performance section. You can go for the phone if you don't have large camera expectations.
