Rajasthan Royals Team Preparations 2018

Rajasthan Royals will play their 1st IPL 2018 match against Sun Risers Hyderabad on 9th April. The team is back after a two year suspension from IPL. Rajasthan's IPL performance was not consistent. Despite the 1st year IPL victory, they haven't made any final appearance after that. This year Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team. Steve Smith's suspension due to ball tampering controversy effected the teams middle order as well as they missed an experienced captain. Rajasthan was impressive in the 2018 auction. As they usually do, despite selecting star players, they identified domestic talents and recruited them. Rajasthan started training the youngsters from the 3rd week of March. More players participated actively in the later sessions.  

From March 20th on wards Rajasthan started their training sessions. In that session, 7 Indian players were present. The camp was held at Cricket Club of India's Barbourne Stadium, which is also their secondary home ground. Zubin Bharucha was actively participated in the camp and trained the youngsters very well. Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane made a visit to the camp and interacted with the youngsters. After the 3 days camp, players were seen engaged in photo sessions. Rajasthan began their first practice session on 26th March with some experienced domestic players, under the coaching of Rahane and Bharucha. They were active in each area, bowling, batting and fielding. In between, Rahane's promotion as captain was announced by Rajasthan Royals team management. Bharucha said that there is enough back up for Steve Smith in the team. They headed to their primary home ground Sawai ManSingh Stadium on 30th March. On the next day on wards, they continued their practice for the season. Sanju Samson, R Tripathi, Dhawal Kulkarni were actively participated in the sessions. They played some friendly matches at the ground. Rahane was busy with motivating the youngsters. They also made some team talk on the day about their new tactics. On 2nd April Ajinkya Rahane enjoyed some net sessions.South African player Henrich Klassen joined the team on that day. On April 3rd, they began their day with some warm ups. Later they were seen active in the nets. England batsmen Jos Buttler arrived on the day and had some chat with the players. On 4th April, with the arrival of foreign players, practice sessions were seen more engaged. Head coach Shane Warne arrived on 5th April. In his presence the team produced their new jersey to the fans. More Rajasthan overseas players are expected to join the team in coming days.
