VIVO Nex Preview

Vivo's flagship range phone, VIVO Nex made its trial appearance in the MWC 2018, and made an official announcement in the month of March. It is expected to launch first in China(June 12) and later to other Markets. We can expect its release in India in the last week of August(rumored date is August 23). It will have Android v8.0, Oreo. The phone is expected to come with 2 variants, a pop-up camera based and one without the feature. It will have a starting price of Rs 39,990.00. The recently released One Plus 6 will be a tough competitor for the device.

Design and Display

With a 91% Body to Screen Ratio, Nex has made a huge revolution in the display section. It will make full use of 5.99 inch OLED display. 1080*2160 pixel screen resolution looks ordinary for the price tag. Corning Gorilla Glass will take care of the screen but it hasn't yet revealed the version of it. 403 ppi Pixel Density looks a bit higher to One Plus 6.

The 7.8mm thicker phone will feature unique design than its predecessors. The finger print scanner is placed on the screen and the Primary camera will be placed in the back right side.

Storage and Performance

The phone has launched with various storage options of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. But in India it is rumored that Vivo will launch the 64 GB version first. along with the built in memory it gives the expandable storage option up to 256 GB.

The device is powered with Octa core 2.8 GHz processor and will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Adreno 630 graphics card will enhance the graphical performance further more. The phone is expected to have a 6 GB RAM

Battery and Camera

The 4000mAh huge Li-Polymer battery will give higher stand-by. One Plus 6, its competitor is having just 3300mAh battery. Although it doesn't have removable battery option, a perfect design will compromise the weakness.

The phone is having 2 variants in the cameras. One with a pop-up camera and one lacks it. It is rumored that the cameras are powered with innovative AI features and is yet know the perfect innovations. 12 MP+ 12 MP dual Primary camera looks decent and we can expect the basic Phase Detection autofocus features. Till now they haven't given an idea about the type of LED Flash. We can get a 4000*3000 pixel images from the Primary camera. VIVO hasn't revealed its more features on Front Camera. 8 MP camera looks ordinary for the price tag and expected at least 12 MP camera from the brand.

Other Features

Half- screen finger print scanner technology has been the main attraction of the device. The AI features such as smart optimisation, ultra-dynamic, multi-frame preferences, character optimisations, natural tones will be a boost for the device.The audio experience is enhanced with System-in-Package(SiP) and comes with 3 amplifiers and DAC(Digital to Analogue) Converter.

Verdict

VIVO has made a lot of innovations in their device. As currently they have below 30k devices in India, this will be their flee from budget devices. They have made enough innovations in Artificial Intellegence(AI) technology. Both the cameras are powered with a lot of fresh features.Display looks decent with a 91% body to screen ratio. 4000 mAh battery will be one more advantage comparing to its competitor. New standards in the finger print, Design part makes the device much more better. If you are OK with the price tag, VIVO Nex will be a best pick.
